The deadline for submitting abstracts for the 12th National Congress of the Azerbaijani Cardiology Society is November 20, 2023. The top 5 abstracts with the best results will be presented as verbal presentations in a special session. Abstracts should be prepared in the given format.

The recommended font size is "Times New Roman," 12. The maximum word limit for abstracts is 300 words.The system will not accept abstracts that are longer than 300 words.

The title should be written in capital letters without abbreviation. In the next line, the names and surnames of the authors are written.

The abstracts should consist of the following sections: "Objective of the Study," "Materials and Methods," "Results," and "Conclusion."

The title of the study and the research objective should be written as concisely as possible. Tables, charts, and images are not allowed in the abstracts.

Clinical Case Competition Dedicated to the Memory of Ali Akbarov

As is tradition, this year the submission of clinical case presentations for the competition dedicated to the memory of Dr. Ali Akbarov is announced within the framework of the 12th National Congress of the Azerbaijani Cardiology Society.

The clinical case presentation should be prepared in accordance with the following rules:

1. The clinical case presentation should be prepared in Azerbaijani and the text should not exceed 300 words. The recommended font size is "Times New Roman," 12, with 1.5 line spacing.

2. Initially, the title of the clinical case and the authors' and contact information should be provided.

3. The clinical case should be structured with an introduction, clinical case description, discussion, key points (2-3), and instructive issues presented in sequential order. 2-3 instructive issues should be provided, each not exceeding 2 sentences.

4. The presented clinical case should stand out due to its rarity in pathology, unusual findings during examination or treatment.

5. Special attention should be given to the quality of photo and video materials. These materials should be in JPEG, AVI, or DICOM format. It should be noted that the quality of the materials is one of the main parameters in evaluating clinical cases. Video materials obtained with mobile phones or similar devices with inadequate quality will not be evaluated. Personal information of the patient should not be present in photo and video materials, and anonymity should be maintained.

6. The text should not contain the patient's name, surname, or the name of the clinic.

7. Abbreviations should not be used.

8. Literature should be presented in the following format:

9. Clinical cases previously presented at AKC congresses and published in journals will not be accepted for the competition.

10. Each physician can submit a maximum of 3 clinical cases.

11. Clinical cases should be submitted by November 20, 2023. Clinical cases submitted after this date will not be evaluated.

12. All clinical cases will be initially evaluated by November 20, 2023, based on 3 parameters: the medical significance of the clinical case, preparation of the presentation, and the quality of photo-video material. The top 5 clinical cases with the best results will be selected.

If a clinical case is selected, a Slide Presentation should be prepared. Maximum 9-10 slides:

1. Title Slide: Clinical case title, presenter's name, surname, institution name, presentation date, and location.

2. Introduction.

3 - 5. Presentation of the clinical case.

6 - 7. Discussion.

8. Key Points (Takeaway Messages).

9. References.
